14 Day Tour of GERMANY, AUSTRIA, ITALY, GREECE AND TURKEY
Day 1 Departure from the USA
We start our journey as we board our plane to Frankfurt, Germany. Meals and Beverages served in flight.
Day 2 Arrival Frankfurt / Wurzburg
We arrive in Frankfurt and are met by our PATHFINDERS Manager who assists with our baggage and the transfer to our hotel. We enjoy an orientation tour on the way to our hotel in Wurzburg. The rest of the day is free to explore on our own.
Day 3 Wurzburg / Rothenburg / Oberammergau
We visit the Marienberg Fortress, the PrinceBishop's Residenz for nearly five centuries, and other sites. We then drive to the 16th century town of Rothenburg, known for its well-preserved medieval old town, with time for shopping before departing for Oberammergau for mass and overnight lodging.
Day 4 Oberammergau / PASSION PLAY
Today is the day we've been waiting for! We see the Passion Play performed by residents of Oberammergau. This small town of peasants and craftsmen, encircled by the wooded foothills of the Ammergau, owes its international fame to the Passion Play which has occurred without interruption since 1634. Once every decade 1,100 amateur actors from the local population reenact the final days of Christ. Dinner and overnight in Oberammergau.
Day 5 Oberammergau / Innsbruck / Dolomites / Venice
We board our motor coach and depart for Venice, stopping for coffee in Innsbruck, Austria to see Maria Theresa's Golden Roof. We continue south across the Europa Bridge, thru the Brenner Pass and magnificent Dolomites, to Venice, Italy for overnight in the Venice Mestre area.
Day 6 Venice / Florence
From a motor launch we see the Grand Canal, the Basilica of San Marco, the Town Square, the Bridge of Sighs, one of the most famous bridges in Venice, along with other fascinating sites before driving to Florence for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 Florence / Rome
We have a guided sightseeing tour of Florence before traveling by motor coach to Rome for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 Rome
We visit the world's smallest country, Vatican City, seeing the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel – home to Michelangelo’s “Last Judgment” – and St. Peter's Basilica. If the Holy Father is in residence we will receive the Papal Blessing (audience with the Pope). Later we visit the Basilica of St. Mary Major, St. John in Lateran and Scala Santa. We will also visit the Roman Forum, Mammertine Prison, and the Colosseum. The rest of the day is free to explore Rome on your own. We spend the night in Rome.
Day 9 Rome / Athens
After breakfast we fly to Athens, Greece where we take a half-day city tour. We climb the Acropolis; see the Parthenon; and visit the Areopagus (where St. Paul preached about the "Unknown God"), the Agora, Hadrian's Arch and Syntagma Square. The rest of the day is free to explore Athens on our own.
Day 10 Greek Isles Cruise: Piraeus / Mykonos
After a leisurely morning we travel to the port city of Piraeus for our cruise. We first sail to Mykonos, a vibrant island with a colorful harbor. Enjoy the shopping or taste a delicious crepe!
Day 11 Greek Isles Cruise: Rhodes
We glide into the harbor that in ancient times was straddled by the famed Colossus. The old city, built
by Crusader Knights of the Order of St. John, has changed little from medieval times.
Day 12 Greek Isles Cruise: Kusadasi / Ephesus / Patmos
In Kusadasi we take the shore excursion to the ruins of Ephesus, one of Asia Minor's richest cities in ancient times. You can walk the marble streets and see the old theater, the Temple of Diana and more. Later, we stop in Patmos where exiled St. John penned the Apocalypse.
Day 13 Greek Isles Cruise: Piraeus / Corinth / Athens
We spend the morning in Piraeus where we tour Classical Greece, stopping at the Corinthian Canal, and then on to Corinth where we see the Temple of Apollo and the Agora (where St. Paul preached). We return to Athens for overnight.
Day 14 Athens / Hometown, USA
We to the Athens International Airport for our flight home, taking with us wonderful and inspiring memories of our pilgrimage, which will be treasured and relived for the rest of our lives.
14 Day Tour of ITALY, AUSTRIA AND GERMANY
Day 1 Departure from the USA
We start our journey as we board our plane to Rome, Italy. Meals and beverages served in flight.
Day 2 Arrival Rome
We arrive in Rome and are met by our PATHFINDERS Manager who assists with our baggage and the transfer to our hotel. We enjoy an orientation tour on the way to our hotel in Rome. The rest of the day is free to explore on your own. Overnight in Rome.
Day 3 Rome
We see "Christian Rome" visiting the Basilica of St. Mary Major, the Basilica of St. John in Lateran, Scala Santa, the Ancient Baths of Caracalle, the Arch of Drusus, the Church of Domine Quo Vadis, remains of Imperial Tombs, the Tomb of Cecilia Metella, the Catacombs of St. Callixtus and St. Peter in Chains to marvel at Michelangelo's incomparable "Moses." We will also visit the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Mammertine Prison. We spend the night in Rome.
Day 4 Rome

Day 5 Rome / Padua / Venice
This morning we depart the Eternal City of Rome, driving north through the Appenine Mountains to Padua, to visit the Byzantine Basilica. We join other pilgrims at the Tomb of St. Anthony, the patron saint of lost things, before heading to Venice. We stay overnight in the Mestre Venice area.
Day 6 Venice / Dolomites / Innsbruck
After breakfast we have a morning sightseeing tour of Venice Island. We then drive through the magnificent peaks of the Dolomites and the Brenner Pass and cross the Europa Bridge into Innsbruck, an 88-year old city with great charm and vitality. We spend the night in Innsbruck, Austria.
Day 7 lnnsbruck / Oberammergau
In Innsbruck we see Maria Theresa's Golden Roof, the court palace and the church. We continue to King Ludwig’s Linderhof Castle, with its gilded splendor, before driving to Oberammergau for Mass in the church and to stay the night.
Day 8 Oberammergau / PASSION PLAY
Today is the day we've been waiting for! We see the Passion Play performed by residents of Oberammergau. This small town of peasants and craftsmen, encircled by the wooded foothills of the Ammergau, owes its international fame to the Passion Play. 11 Day Tour of ITALY AND GERMANY
Day 1 Departure from the USA
We start our journey as we board our plane to Rome, Italy. Meals and beverages served in flight.
Day 2 Arrival Rome
Arriving in the Eternal City of Rome we are met by our friendly PATHFINDERS Manager who assists us with baggage and the transfer to our hotel. En route, we enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour. The rest of the day is free to explore on our own. Overnight in Rome.
Day 3 Rome
We take a sightseeing tour of Vatican City and view some of the world’s greatest art collections at the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, featuring the work of Michelangelo. We visit St. Peter's Basilica, commissioned in 324 AD by Constantine, the first Christian Emperor, on the site where St. Peter was buried after being martyred in Nero's circus. There is time for lunch on our own and an afternoon at leisure under the guidance of our Tour Manager. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 4 Rome
Our day begins with a tour of Ancient Rome, including the Colosseum. Originally called the Flavian Amphitheatre, its construction began around 70 AD in a low-lying area that once formed the pond of Nero's Domus Aureus. The amphitheater probably came to be called the Colosseum because of the colossal statue of Nero that once stood near it. The Colosseum, seating more than 50,000, was completed in 80 AD and inaugurated with games for 100 days. We will have lunch on our own and an afternoon at leisure to explore Rome under the guidance of our Tour Manager. Enjoy the shopping and many sights! Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 5 Rome / Assisi
We depart Rome for Assisi, a town that offers a collection of masterpieces of creative genius – such as the Basilica of San Francesco – that have made it a reference point for art history. We take a guided tour of Assisi with a visit to St. Francis Basilica. Pope Gregory IX laid the first stone of the lower basilica on July 17, 1228 (the day after the canonization of St. Francis). Two years later, the saint's body, previously resting in the church of San Giorgio, was secretly (for fear of tomb raiders) laid to rest in the unfinished basilica. We have time for lunch on our own and an afternoon at leisure to experience Assisi with suggestions by our Tour Manager. Dinner and overnight in Assisi.
Day 6 Assisi / Florence
Today we travel to Florence, home of the Renaissance and many renowned artists, inventors and men of science such as Dante, Giotto, Lorenzo the Magnificent and Michelangelo (da Vinci and Raphael spent formative years here). We tour the amazing Accademia of Fine Arts, viewing its collection of Michelangelo sculptures including the original “David” and the Cathedral of Santa Maria de Liore, with origins dating to I296 and one of the largest cathedrals in the Christian world. Dinner and overnight in Florence.
Day 7 Florence / Milan
We travel to Milan, the capital of Italian high fashion and finance. Though appearing thoroughly modern, the city is a warehouse of artistic treasures. We have time for lunch on our own before embarking on a guided tour in the afternoon. Our first stop is the Cathedral (Duomo), a Gothic marvel of white marble, followed by a visit to La Scala, which draws an international audience to attend its excellent concerts and recitals by world-class musicians. Dinner and overnight in Milan.
Day 8 Milan / Verona / Oberammergau
We stop in Verona on our way to Oberammergau. Second to Venice as the finest art center in Venetia, Verona stands in a hilly setting on the banks of the Adige River. Verona was home to Romeo and Juliet, immortalized by William Shakespeare. Casa di Giulietto (the Capulet’s house) was Juliet's home on the Via Cappello. The famous balcony from which Juliet beckoned for her fair Romeo is located in the home’s inner courtyard. We continue to Oberammergau for dinner and the night.
Day 9 Oberammergau / PASSION PLAY

Day 10 Oberammergau / Ulm
We travel today to Ulm, home of Albert Einstein. We visit Ulm Minster, the tallest church in the world with a steeple measuring 530 feet. Lunch on our own. Dinner and overnight in Ulm.
Day 11 Ulm / Frankfurt / Hometown, USA
We transfer to the Frankfurt Airport for our flight home, taking with us wonderful and inspiring memories of our pilgrimage, which will be treasured and relived for the rest of our lives.
12 Day Tour of PORTUGAL, SPAIN, FRANCE, SWITZERLAND AND GERMANY
Day 1 Departure from the USA
We start our journey as we board our plane to Lisbon, Portugal. Meals and beverages served in flight.
Day 2 Arrival Lisbon / Fatima
We arrive in the capital of Portugal and are met by our friendly PATHFINDERS Manager who helps with baggage and leads us to our motor coach for a city tour. We soon see why Lisbon is the country’s most visited tourist destination – it has something to offer everyone! We transfer to Fatima for dinner and the night.
Day 3 Fatima / Burgos
We begin our day with a tour of Fatima, famous for the religious visions that took place in 1917. A shrine, the Sanctuary of Fatima, was built to commemorate the Virgin of the Rosary (Our Lady of Fatima) appearing to three peasant children. People travel from around the world to experience the evening torchlight processions.
We then travel to Burgos, Spain with a stop for lunch on our own. Arriving in Burgos we visit Burgos Cathedral, the third largest cathedral in Spain. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the Cathedral is famous for its vast size, unique architecture and the Tomb of El Cid, a great knight who fought the Moors in Spain. Dinner and overnight in Burgos.
Day 4 Burgos / Lourdes
Stopping for lunch on the way we travel to Lourdes, France where Bernadette Soubirous had the first of 18 visions on February 11, 1858. The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes is an area surrounding the Catholic shrine (Grotto) to Our Lady of Lourdes. The Sanctuary is a destination for sick pilgrims who are reputed to be miraculously healed by its water. This event led Lourdes to becoming a world-famous center of the Legion of Mary. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.
Day 5 Lourdes / Avignon
Those wishing to attend morning Mass can do so. We then enjoy a tour of Lourdes and the places associated with St. Bernadette such as Holy Hill, the local mill, the parish church and Le Cachot where St. Bernadette received Holy Communion. We travel to Avignon, with a stop for lunch on our own, and visit Palais de Pope (Palace of the Popes), one of the largest and most important medieval Gothic buildings in Europe. Due to the violent chaos of Rome, Avignon became the residence of the Popes in 1309. The Palais was built between 1335 and 1364 on a natural rocky outcrop overlooking the Rhône River. Dinner and overnight in Avignon.
Day 6 Avignon / Ars / Geneva
Leaving Avignon we continue to Geneva, Switzerland, stopping in Ars, France to view the Shrine of St. John Vianney of Ars. John Vianney was the son of a poor farmer who tended sheep and didn’t begin his education until age 20. He had difficulty being accepted for the priesthood but was canonized in 1925 for his ardent devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. St. John Vianney is venerated as the patron saint of parish priests. There is time for lunch on our own before departing for dinner and overnight in Geneva.
Day 7 Geneva / Interlaken / Lucerne
Our day begins with a drive to Interlaken where we have some time to enjoy lunch on our own. Interlaken offers spectacular views to the famous Alpine mountains Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau and the Bernese Oberland, which dominate the Interlaken skyline. We continue to Lucerne for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 Lucerne / Einsiedeln / Oberammergau
This morning we embark on a guided walking tour of Lucerne, one of the most charming places in Europe. Lucerne is surrounded by snowcapped Alps and situated on a beautiful glacial lake. We visit Jesuit Church, the first large baroque church built in Switzerland north of the Alps, learning it’s an expression of the Catholic Church’s 17th century struggle to regain spiritual leadership in the counter-reformation. Leaving Lucerne we travel to Einsiedeln, stopping for lunch on our own, to visit Monastery of Einsiedeln – home to the “Black Madonna” – and the most venerated pilgrimage site in German-speaking Europe. We continue to Oberammergau and the culmination of our tour – the Passion Play. Dinner and overnight in Oberammergau.

After an unforgettable day in Oberammergau we board our motor coach for transfer to Munich, capital of Bavaria, largest industry/commerce center in southern Germany and host to the XX Olympic Games in 1972.
Day 11 Munich / Marktl Am Inn (Altoetting ) / Munich
We have a full-day excursion to Marktl am Inn, the birthplace of Pope Benedict XVI, to visit the Shrine of Altoetting, depicting the Virgin Mother and the Christ Child. Legend holds the Shrine has the power to heal! We have time for lunch before transferring back to Munich for our Farewell dinner and overnight.
Day 12 Munich / Hometown, USA
We transfer to the Munich Airport for our flight home, taking with us wonderful and inspiring memories of our pilgrimage, which will be treasured and relived for the rest of our lives.

Day 3 Munich / Neuschwanstein / Wies / Oberammergau
Your orientation to the “Secret Capital” (Munich) includes Olympic Stadium, the 1,000-foot Television Tower, Marienplatz with town halls old and new and the gothic Frauenkirche. Enjoy a scenic drive to Neuschwanstein for a visit to magnificent King Ludwig’s Castle, the inspiration for the castle in Walt Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty.” On the way to Oberammergau visit Church of Wies, a beautifully located Rococo masterpiece and pilgrimage destination. Overnight in Oberammergau.

Day 5 Oberammergau / Innsbruck / Einsiedeln / Lucerne
A picturesque drive to Lucerne through the Bavarian and Tyrolean Alps brings you to Innsbruck. Enjoy a pleasant walk through its quaint medieval lanes and take pictures of the Golden Roof. Cross the border to Switzerland and visit the impressive Benedictine Abbey Of Our Lady in Einsiedeln renowned for its famous “Black Madonna” and unique baroque architecture. Overnight in Lucerne.
Day 6 Lucerne
On your walking tour admire Thorwaldsen’s Lion’s Monument, dedicated to the Swiss Guards who protected the Royal House of France during the French Revolution, and the ornate patrician houses of the walled town. Cross the famous Chapel Bridge and visit Jesuit Church, with its onion-topped towers, built during the rise of Protestantism and a key reason Lucerne remained Catholic. Also included is a visit to Hofkirche St. Leodegar, the most important church and a landmark of this city. Afternoon and evening at leisure with optional excursions to Mount Pilatus and a Swiss folklore show available.
Day 7 Lucerne / Schaffhausen / Black Forest / Rhineland
After a short drive to Schaffhausen to admire the famous Rhine Falls you enter Germany and stop in the Black Forest to enjoy a wood carving demonstration before continuing to Rhineland for your overnight stay.
Day 8 Rhineland / Trier / Aachen / Cologne
This morning is dedicated to Trier, one of the oldest cities north of the Alps. Admire Porta Nigra, a large Roman city gate; visit the High Cathedral of St. Peter; and see the unusual early-Gothic Dreikönigenhaus. Continue to Aachen for a visit to the oldest cathedral in Northern Europe, the burial place of Charlemagne and for 600 years the church of coronation for German kings and queens. Overnight in Cologne.
Day 9 Cologne / The Rhine Valley / Rüdesheim / Frankfurt
Visit of the magnificent cathedral, sometimes called the world’s most beautiful example of Gothic art. Next is a romantic cruise along the most scenic part of the Rhine River, followed by a special treat – wine tasting in the capital of Riesling wine, Rüdesheim. This evening a farewell dinner has been prepared at your hotel in Frankfurt.
Day 10 Frankfurt
We transfer to the Frankfurt Airport for our flight home, taking with us wonderful and inspiring memories of our pilgrimage, which will be treasured and relived for the rest of our lives.

Day 3 Munich / Regensburg
The guided tour of the “Secret Capital” (Munich) features Olympic Stadium, built for the 1972 Olympics; the 1,000-foot Olympic Tower; and Königsplatz, used for Nazi rallies during World War II. Drive along the Ludwigstrasse and see the Bavarian Arch of Triumph and Field Marshall Hall. Visit lively Marienplatz with the town halls, old and new, and the Gothic Frauenkirche. Arrive in Regensburg for a guided walking tour featuring the Stone Bridge, the oldest preserved bridge of its kind in Germany; the Porta Pretoria, built in the 2nd century by Emperor Marcus Aurelius; and St. Peter’s Cathedral. Next, board the Swarovski Crystal boat for a cruise on the Danube River. You cannot leave Regensburg without tasting a medieval hot dog at the Historic Sausage Kitchen. Overnight in Regensburg.
Day 4 Regensburg / Nuremberg
Visit the Thurn Und Taxis Palace, a former Benedictine monastery that was converted into the residence of the Princes of Thurn und Taxis in 1812. Continue to Nuremberg, known for children’s toys and gingerbread. Admire the impressive medieval ramparts as you walk through the pedestrian area of the charming Old Town and see St. Sebald Church, painstakingly reconstructed as a monument to peace from the rubble of near-total wartime destruction. Also, admire the Schöner Brunnen, a 14th century fountain dedicated to the Holy Roman Empire. It is said that spinning the two brass rings brings good luck. Overnight in Nuremberg.
Day 5 Nuremberg / Bayreuth / Bamberg
Today our first stop is Bayreuth for an orientation of this city of festival fame. Richard Wagner came to Bayreuth in 1871 and was not satisfied with the existing 18th century theater, Markgräfliches Opernhaus, so he had a new one built. The festival hall is used exclusively for the Bayreuth Festival and performance of Wagner’s works. Continue to picturesque Bamberg, the city with the largest historical center in Germany and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Taste “smoked beer” with its distinctive smoke flavor, imparted by using malted barley dried over an open flame. Enjoy a guided walk along the cobblestone streets and admire the architecture of the houses. Return to Nuremberg for overnight.
Day 6 Nuremberg / Rothenburg / Stuttgart / Black Forest
A short drive delivers you to medieval Rothenburg with its ramparts and towers, cobblestone lanes, and 16th century houses. Hear how the town survived the Thirty Years’ War and shop for Christmas ornaments. In Stuttgart enjoy an exciting visit to the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Then, enter the Black Forest (Schwarzwald), home of the cuckoo clock. Overnight in Black Forest.
Day 7 Black Forest / Lake Constance / Füssen Area
Enjoy a scenic drive to sparkling Lake Constance and continue to the Bavarian Alps for your overnight stay in the Fussen Area.
Day 8 Füssen Area / Neuschwanstein / Oberammergau
Today we will visit King Ludwig’s magnificent Neuschwanstein Castle, one of Germany’s most famous and the inspiration for Walt Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty” castle. Follow your guide through this fairytale site on a craggy outcrop high above a sparkling lake. Visit the Museum of the Bavarian Kings enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride. The afternoon and evening are dedicated to the world-famous Passion Play, performed once every 10 years by the people of Oberammergau.
Day 9 Oberammergau / Munich
Enjoy a leisurely morning with the option to visit King Ludwig’s Linderhof Castle. This afternoon you can return to Marienplatz and explore its many enticing shops. Tonight, a farewell dinner awaits you at one of Munich’s lively restaurants to say auf Wiedersehen!
Day 10 Munich
We transfer to the Munich Airport for our flight home, taking with us wonderful and inspiring memories of our pilgrimage, which will be treasured and relived for the rest of our lives.
Day 1: USA to Munich:
We board our overnight transatlantic flight calling to mind the intentions of our hearts and those for whom we will pray on this journey of faith. Meals and beverages and will be served in flight.
Day 2: Arrive in Munich:
Upon arrival we meet our Pathfinders Tour Manager, board our motorcoach, and recharge with a local lunch. Following lunch, we catch our breath with a short 45 min drive to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site, the first and longest serving Nazi camp, built in 1933. Starting our pilgrimage here will help us understand the human experience of passion, death, and resurrection while bringing Catholic social teaching to life in preparation for the Passion Play. Following this moving and profound visit, we will return to Munich, check in to our hotel, and reflect together over dinner at the 16th century Hofbräuhaus, famous for its 3 story beer halls and Bavarian menu. Day 3: Munich – Neuschwanstein- Oberammergau:
After breakfast we explore Munich’s Marienplatz, (St. Mary, Our Lady’s Square) with the Old and New Town Hall. Praying at the Mariensäule (Mary’s Column) will help us celebrate Mary as the Patrona Bavariae (Protector of Bavaria). Mary’s “Yes” to God’s call sets the tone for our private Mass at the Dom zu Unserer Lieben Frau (Cathedral of Our Dear Lady). Following lunch, we enter the Bavarian Alps and drive to Neuschwanstein to visit King Ludwig’s Castle. En route to Oberammergau we enjoy a visit to the Pilgrim Church of Wies, a masterpiece of Bavarian Rococo architecture and UNESCO World Heritage Site. We arrive in picturesque Oberammergau and check in to the Wittelsbach Hotel. This family-owned property has partnered with Pathfinders’ Chairman, Paul Lam, since 1984 for Passion Play groups. Day 4: Oberammergau – Morning Hike/Leisure – Passion Play:
This morning you have the option to catch your breath and walk the streets of Oberammergau, perhaps visiting the Church of SS. Peter & Paul, and exploring the markets. Feeling adventurous? The 4 hour hike of the Kofel, a Matterhorn-shaped mountain, elevation of 4,400 ft., will reward you with panoramic views, a local shrine, and lunch at the Kolbenalm Bavarian restaurant on the way down. Day 5: Oberammergau- Liechtenstein – Einsiedein, Switzerland – Lucerne:
Today our path leads us to Valuz, in the Principality of Liechtenstein for a lunch break before we enter Switzerland. Our drive to Einsiedeln takes us to the most famous pilgrimage destination in Switzerland, where the Great Festival of the Miraculous Dedication is held. Following Mass, we have time to explore and pray in the Abbey Church, visit The Lady Chapel and reverence the Black Madonna, along with an optional walk from the abbey to the world’s largest Nativity scene, the Diorama Bethlehem with over 500 carved wooden figures. We end our day with short drive to picture-book Lucerne, the center of the Catholic resistance during the time of the Reformation. Breakfast, Dinner and overnight in Lucerne
Day 6: Lucerne:
After breakfast we enjoy a guided walking tour which features the Lion Monument and the famous Chapel Bridge. After a visit to the Cathedral of St. Leger and Mass at the baroque Jesuit Chapel, the rest of the day is YOURS! Savor this leisure time to relax, pray, shop for Swiss watches, cruise on the lake, or join an optional hike in the nearby mountains. Day 7: Lucerne- Karlsruhe, Germany:
Today we make our way back to Germany and visit the thundering Rhine Falls at Schaffhausen, a 70-foot cataract of the River Rhine. From here, our path leads north into the pine-clad Black Forest, famous for its cuckoo clocks to Karlsruhe. Breakfast, Dinner, overnight in Karlsruhe
Day 8: Karlsruhe- Trier- Aachen – Cologne:
Our first stop today is in Trier, Germany’s oldest town and second in importance to Rome in the Western Roman Empire. We visit the Porta Nigra, the largest Roman city gate north of the Alps and pray in St. Peters Cathedral, the oldest Roman Catholic cathedral in Germany. We continue to Aachen for Mass at the Aachen Cathedral with Emperor Charlemagne’s own Palatine Chapel at its center. This cathedral, where 30 Holy Roman emperors were crowned between the 10th and 16th centuries, was the very first site to be granted UNESCO World Heritage status in Germany. Day 9: Cologne- Rudeshelm- Frankfurt:
This morning we enjoy a guided exploration of the Cathedral of St. Peter and a final pilgrimage Mass. We pray and consider how this experience of Dachau, the Passion Play, and the marvelous beauty and faith of this region challenges us as followers of Jesus. What insight and renewed commitment will we bring back to our parish community to build on its mission in the local community? Next, we savor a scenic Rhine Cruise to Rudesheim, capital of Reisling wine. Here we enjoy Wine Tasting and celebrate a with our pilgrimage community. Afterwards, we continue to Frankfurt for a farewell dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Frankfurt to USA:
With grateful hearts and weary feet, we say “Auf wiedersehen” to our Pathfinders tour manager and check in for our return flight to the USA which arrives the same day.
Day 1 Departure from the USA
Our pilgrimage begins as we board our plane to Tel Aviv, Israel. Meals and beverages served in flight.
Day 2 Tel Aviv/Tiberius
We arrive in Tel Aviv and are met by our Pathfinders representative who takes us to our motor coach for a panoramic drive to Tiberius for our first night in the Holy Land. Dinner and overnight in Tiberius.
Day 3 Nazareth/Capernaum/Sea of Galilee/Tiberius
Our journey in the footsteps of Jesus begins by traveling to his hometown of Nazareth. We make our way to the Church of the Annunciation, Church of St. Joseph and Nazareth village. We then make our way to the Sea of Galilee, stopping in Cana. Upon arrival in Capernaum we visit the House of Peter, Mount of Beatitudes and walk to Tabgha. After visiting the Church of Mensa Christi, we board our boat for a sunset sail on the Sea of Galilee. Dinner and overnight in Tiberius.
Day 4 Bethlehem/Jerusalem
This morning we make our way to Bethlehem to visit Shepherds Fields and the Church of the Nativity. Lunch includes a special visit to Bethlehem University where we will be served by and share with students of the Culinary Arts Program. In the afternoon we enter Jerusalem and enjoy a Panoramic tour of the city before making our way to the Mount Olives, Church of Dominus Flevit, and the Garden of Gethsemane. We end our day at the Wailing Wall with time for prayer and reflection. This evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Overnight Jerusalem.
Day 5 Jerusalem/ Via Dolorosa
This morning we walk in the footsteps of Jesus on the Via Dolorosa(Stations of the Cross). We pray our way along the path to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where we celebrate Mass. We then make our way to Mount Zion and the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu. We continue to the Upper Room and Tomb of David.This evening there is the option to attend the Tower of David Night SpectacularShow. Dinner and Overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 6 Jerusalem/Dead Sea/Qumran/Masada
Our journey continues today as we drive to the Dead Sea for an amazing float! We visit Masada, Qumran, the Tomb of Lazarus and the House of Mary and Martha. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 7 Tel Aviv/Munich/Oberammergau
This morning we drive to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. Here we conclude our visit to the Holy Land and board our flight to Munich. Upon arrival in Munich we are met by our friendly PATHFINDERS Manager who assists us with baggage and the transfer to Oberammergau. Dinner and Overnight in Oberammergau.
Day 8 Oberammergau
Today we experience the Passion Play performed every 10 years since 1634 by the residents of Oberammergau. Enjoy time at leisure this morning to stroll through the town, take a hike or just relax and enjoy the views of Bavaria. The Passion Play takes place in 2 parts, beginning at 2:30 in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Oberammergau.
DAY 9 Oberammergau/Neuschwanstein Castle/Ettal Abbey/Munich
This morning we journey to Neuschwanstein Castle and visit the Museum of the Bavarian Kings. We then make our way to Ettal Abbey. After a chance to sample their brews and spirits, we continue on to Munich for the evening. Dinner and Overnight in Munich.
Day 10 Munich/USA
We transfer to the Munich Airport for our flight home, taking with us wonderful and inspiring memories of our pilgrimage, which will be treasured and relived for the rest of our lives.
A Journey of Faith: Rome to Oberammergau

Day 2 Arrival in Rome
Arriving in the Eternal City of Rome we are met by our friendly PATHFINDERS Tour Manager who assists us with baggage and the transfer to our hotel. En route, we enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour of Rome. The rest of the day is free to explore on our own. Overnight in Rome.
Day 3 Vatican City / Rome
We begin our journey in Rome visiting the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel, followed by a guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica. Feeling adventurous? Climb the 551 steps to the TOP of St. Peter’s Dome. This afternoon we have a walking tour of Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. Dinner is at a local osteria and overnight in Rome.
Day 4 Rome
Today our journey takes us to Basilica of St. Paul's Outside the Walls. We then travel to the Basilica of St. John Lateran and ascend the Scala Santca, the Holy Staircase. This evening, we have the opportunity to meet with members of the Salesian Youth movement or seminarians currently studying in Rome at the North American Pontifical College. Dinner is at a local osteria and overnight in Rome.
Day 5 Rome/Assisi/Rome
We depart early in the morning for our journey to the beautiful Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi as well as Santa Clara and San Damiano. We spend time in the “Renunciation Room” joined by Archbishop Domenico Sorrentino (schedule pending) for discussion and prayer. Dinner and Overnight in Rome.
Day 6 Rome / Evening Train to Germany
Our journey today takes us to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiorie, Castel Sant Angelo including lunch, and the Catacombs of St. Calixtus. This afternoon is free to savor gelato and your favorite Roma sites and food. This evening we board our overnight train to Oberammergau, Germany.
Day 7 Train to Oberammergau/Oberammergau, Germany
We begin our day enjoying the landscape of Austria and Germany from the train. We arrive in Oberammergau late morning and our met by our friendly PATHFINDERS Tour Manager who assists us with baggage and the transfer to the hotel. After lunch we enjoy a tour of the city and the opportunity for those who choose to experience the Alpine Coaster. Dinner and Overnight in Oberammergau.
Day 8 Oberammergau
This morning is yours for leisure and refletion. In the afternoon we experience the world famous Passion Play performed by local residents of Oberammergau since 1634. The Passion Play takes place in two parts, beginning at 2:30 in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Oberammergau.
Day 9 Oberammergau / Munich / USA
We transfer to the Munich Airport for our flight home, taking with us the wonderful and inspiring memories of our pilgrimage, which will be treasured and relived for the rest of our lives.

This morning we depart Oberammergau and journey to Neuschwanstein Castle and the Museum of the Bavarian Kings. We continue on to Ulm, the home of Albert Einstein. We visit Ulm Minster the tallest church in the world with a steeple measuring 530 feet! This afternoon is at leisure to explore the city. Dinner and overnight in Ulm.
Day 10 Ulm/Rothenburg/Frankfurt
Our journey today takes us from Ulm to medieval Rothenburg. We continue on to Frankfurt where we enjoy a tour of the city and our Farewell Dinner. Overnight in Frankfurt.
Day 11 Frankfurt/USA
We transfer to the Frankfurt Airport for our flight home, taking with us wonderful and inspiring memories of our pilgrimage, which will be treasured and relived for the rest of our lives.

We begin our morning at Regensburg Cathedral (Dom St. Peter) and depart for Prague. Upon arrival in Prague, we enjoy a panoramic tour of the city and visit The Carmelite Shrine of the Miraculous Infant of Prague. We then check into our overnight accommodations. Dinner and overnight in Prague.
Day 12 Prague
This morning we visit Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, Old Royal Palace, the Basilica of St. George, various chapels, statues and many other historical monuments. We walk across the famous Charles Bridge and visit historic Old Town Square, Tyn Church, the Astronomical Clock and St. Nicholas Church. The afternoon is at leisure with ample time to wander and explore in small groups. We gather this evening for a traditional meal to celebrate our pilgrimage together. Dinner and overnight in Prague.

Day 11 Nuremberg/Frankfurt
We start our day at Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), followed by free time to tour some of the historical sites of Nuremberg and enjoy a Nuremberg sausage! After lunch we depart to Frankfurt where we have an evening tour and enjoy dinner. Dinner and overnight in Frankfurt
Day 12 Frankfurt/Cologne
Today’s journey begins at St. Bartholomew’s with a chance to climb the tower. Enjoy some time to explore the city center and savor lunch before departing for Cologne! Upon arrival in Cologne, we check into our overnight accommodations. We then explore the Medieval Old Town and enjoy dinner. Dinner and overnight in Cologne.
Day 13 Cologne
On our final day in Germany we journey to the Cologne Cathedral. We then walk along the Rhine river to experience The Chocolate Museum. The rest of the day is free to enjoy lunch and all that Cologne has to offer. We gather together this evening for a hearty farewell dinner. Dinner and Overnight Cologne.
